FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

While we don’t have an official brick-and-mortar location, we cater to dogs and their owners on the Upper East Side.

WHAT is the New York Canine Athletic Club?

The New York Canine Athletic Club is a day of fun for your pup! We use our company Sprinter vans to safely transport your pet to our completely fenced in facility in upstate NY. Dogs are taken through agility training courses, obedience training, off leash run and playtime, and explore running hills and socialization with our trained handlers for a safe and fun adventure. We even have a puppy / small dog play pen to ensure the adventure is right for every dog, all sizes. You can learn more about our New York Canine Athletic Club here. You can also view some of our agility training videos here.

WILL MY DOG HAVE A DIFFERENT WALKER EVERY DAY?

No! Your dog will have the same walker every day. We believe it is important for dogs and caregivers to form a strong and lasting bond.

WHERE DO YOU TAKE MY DOG ON HIS WALKS?

Life in New York City can often be loud and hectic. We take the time to bring your dog on a quiet walk through Central Park where he can enjoy nature and even make some new friends.

HOW MANY DOGS ARE WALKED AT A TIME?

You can choose if your dog would like a solo walk, one-on-one with our walker, or to have your pup taken out with a friend or two. Our walkers will never walk more than three dogs at a time to ensure a safe and calm environment.

WHAT TIME CAN YOU WALK MY DOG?

Whenever you need! We are here to cater to your and your pup’s needs. Walks are available any day at any time.

WHAT ARE BEHAVIORAL REINFORCEMENT WALKS?

The belief is simple: dogs learn good behavior by being rewarded for doing well. We observe the behavior of your dog and practice PAWsitive reinforcement training techniques utilizing body language, verbal cues, hand signals, toys, games, and specially made high-quality treats to mentally and physically stimulate your dog. We ensure you will get the results you want while still maintaining the spirit of your pet. We offer a complimentary consultation to assess your pet’s current state of well-being, and then we carefully design a training regimen with one goal in mind: establishing balance and maintaining consistency for the long term.

WHAT ARE YOUR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES?

We will transport your dog to and from any vet appointments, grooming appointments, (i.e. Canine Styles) airports in the Tri-State area, boarding and training facilities, vacation homes in the Hamptons, upstate, or Connecticut. We are here for ALL of your pup’s transportation needs.

When using transportation services, how are the dogs transported?

Safety is top of mind when transporting your dog to and from any location. Your pup(s) are transported in a crate that adequately fits the size of your furbaby, equipped with a luxurious bed and toy.

WHAT IS “THE DELIGHTED DIFFERENCE?”

We pride ourselves on quality walking, behavioral reinforcement, engagement, exercise, and nutrition. Our walkers are trained to give your dog the highest quality of care. We enforce good behaviors and reward with our single ingredient Delight Bites treats. All of our dog handlers have a backpack full of first aid kit, 6 ft. leashes, 50 ft. leash (which can be reduced to 25 and 10 ft. for exercise and engagement), squeaky toys, and treats so that your pet receives the best care possible in any situation.  In effort to keep your bond and connection close, we will send you photos, videos, and updates of your dog’s potty schedule after the walk. Aside from this, we enforce a strict no phones policy. Our goal is to positively impact the lives of pets and their owners by providing a safe, healthy, & interactive environment for dogs to thrive in.

WHAT IF IT’S RAINING, OR SNOWING?

Bring it on! We are here to care for your pet, rain, snow or shine. If you leave a towel for us we will gladly dry your dog off, clean her paws and put her coat and/or shoes back where we found them. In extreme cases where your dog’s or our walkers’ safety are at risk, with your permission, walks may be cut short to mitigate any risks.
